Song Writing
History.... |
 | Over the years The Thomas
Family have written some of the songs they share in their concerts and have placed
on their recordings. |
|
 | Rod's father...the late Rev. Carl D.
Thomas...had written several chourses that were sung in his pastorates while Rod
was growing up. One of those, in later years, would become a song, as Rod's mother, Nancy
Thomas Medasia, would write the two verses after Carl's death. Thus, in
reality...they co-wrote the song as recorded on the "A FAMILY TRADITION"
in 1991 : |
"I'm Redeemed By The Blood (of
Jesus)"
 | That same recording..."A FAMILY TRADITION"
would host songs written as well by Rod and Barb's son Timothy Michael Thomas: |
"Never Ending Love"
"Send The Fire"
 | On that recording..."A FAMILY TRADITION"
...five more songs would be origionals, coming from the pen of Rodney Allen Thomas:
|
"Countdown To Eternity"
"So Praise Him"
"Gent Down On Your Knees And
Pray"
"The Road"
"Let Me Be That Light"
 | Rod continued
to write songs as the Lord gave, thus on their next recording in 1993, "A STEP IN FAITH" two songs
were part of the project:
|
"Get Right Or Get Left"
"The Dash Between The
Dates"
 | On The Family Family's lastest
recording, "JESUS USE ME", 1999, Rod also penned two of the songs, the first of which
was recorded in 1995 on the project by the same name... the the second is his latest
effort:
|
"The Offer Still Stands"
"When All Is Said And Done"
 | Back by popular demand, Rod and
Barb re-released tow of Rod's previous songs on their new duet recording entitled: "I
Gave Him All". The songs are:
|
"Get
Down On Your Knees And Pray"
"The Dash Between The
Dates"
 | On Rod and Barb's new recording
for 2003 ... Rod wrote the title track for the recording and it's the title of the
project:
|
"A Whosoever Is What I Am"
 |
A new
song came along in 2005, written by Rod, and enjoyed by the many
that have hear it: |
"Til We Eat Again"
